Heat Soak Test (HST) Oven Calibration
Spontaneous breakage due to Nickel Sulphide (NiS) inclusions is a critical hazard in fully tempered glass. Compliance with EN 14179-1 is strictly mandated to ensure safety. JAS offers a comprehensive, full-load calibration service for heat soak ovens using calibrated thermocouples connected to advanced data acquisition systems to fulfill these strict international and local regulatory requirements.
Safety & Impact Performance Testing
JAS is HOKLAS-accredited specifically for BS 6206 impact testing of glass . Over the decades, we have conducted impact testing for over 50 leading manufacturers and fabricators . In addition to our HOKLAS-accredited BS 6206 testing, we also possess extensive capabilities to perform impact and performance evaluations in accordance with ANSI Z97.1, AS/NZS 2208, BS EN 12600 (Pendulum Test), and security glazing manual attack tests under BS EN 356
Laminated Glass Durability & Weathering Testing (BS EN ISO 12543-4:2021)
Laminated safety glass used in modern building facades, skylights, and structural glazing must withstand harsh environmental conditions over long service lives without compromising safety or optical performance. JAS (Inspection & Testing) Ltd provides independent testing to BS EN ISO 12543-4:2021, assessing the long-term durability and interlayer integrity of laminated safety glass under thermal, humid, and solar radiation stress.
Key Testing Capabilities
High-Temperature Resistance Testing (Clause 5)
Evaluates the interlayer’s ability to endure prolonged high-temperature exposure (up to 100ºC) without developing defects such as delamination, bubbles, or cloudiness.
Humidity & Condensation Testing (Clause 6)
Simulates extreme atmospheric moisture conditions (up to 100% relative humidity at 50ºC) over two weeks to ensure interlayers resist moisture ingress and delamination over time.
Simulated Solar Radiation Testing (Clause 7)
Exposes test specimens to 2,000 hours of continuous artificial solar radiation (Radiation Wall, Mercury Vapour, or Xenon Arc sources) to verify light transmittance stability and UV degradation resistance.
Roller Wave Distortion & Optical Distortion Measurement
While heat-treated glass may meet basic structural standards like ASTM C 1048, roller wave distortion caused during the tempering process can lead to unsightly optical reflection and distortion on building facades. JAS (Inspection & Testing) Ltd provides precise localized bow, warp, and roller wave measurements to ensure project glass matches the optical quality of approved architect mock-up samples both before and after installation
Non-Destructive Photoelastic Measurement of Edge and Surface Stresses in Glass
